The village Kysak belongs to district Košice. It lies at the root of mountain Slovenské Rudohorie - Čierna Hora. It is surrounded by Čierna hora from the north and north - west , Slánske vrchy from the east and Košická Kotlina from the south.
The village lies 298 metres above the sea level. The highest hill - Hrad – belongs to Čierna hora and lies 501 metres above the sea level. The river Hornád with its left – hand inflow, flows near the village. Kysak is a very important railway crossroads and it lies between two big towns Košice ( 18 km away ) and Prešov ( 25 km away ).
